Although fats have gotten a bad rap from time to time, they are essential to human life. They also enhance the flavor of foods and contribute to a feeling of satisfaction and fullness.

 

Over 60% of the human body is water so it's easy to see why staying hydrated is so important. In February 2004, the US Institute of Medicine of the National Academies released dietary recommendations for the daily intake of water, salt and potassium based on the most current research.
